LOL on this pic!!!
But kidding aside, this is one of my favorite Bible stories. In Joshua 6, God commanded Josh to lead Israel to march around
the walls that surrounded the City of Jericho, once a day for six days and then 7 times on the 7th day. If you'd study how great cities were built during those days,
you'd probably have a better grasp of God's purpose on letting them compass the
city. Jericho was literally intimidating. It was impenetrable. It was
indestructible. In other words, succumbing Jericho was "mission
impossible" IF they didn't have the All Powerful GOD with them.
What happened when they finished marching around the city
for the 7th time? The trumpets were blown along with the people's shout of
victory and the WALLS OF JERICHO COLLAPSED! God had once again displayed His
glory to His people!
Joshua 6:2-5 NASB
The Lord said to Joshua, "See, I have given Jericho
into your hand, with its king and the valiant warriors. You shall march around
the city, all the men of war circling the city once. You shall do so for six
days. Also seven priests shall carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the
ark; then on the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and
the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall be that when they make a long
blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the
people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city will fall down
flat, and the people will go up every man straight ahead."
