Straight and Narrow

I was talking to a friend about life issues, debating, giving me advice and all. Then he said laughingly, "I know you think I'm always fighting with you (i don't!), but I just want to put you on the straight and narrow."

My friend's words immediately reminded me of how the Lord, my Great Shepherd, has been patiently leading me on the straight and narrow path. This narrow way might not be as appealing as the wide road but it is the road where, in spite of the thorns on bushes or pebbles getting into my shoes, I can be certain that I am safe. It is the path that leads to life, the way the leads to God, the path I desire to remain in.

Matthew 7:13-14 NASB

"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
